Upstream: Yichang To Chongqing

Day1

Destination: Yichang
Highlights:Board the ship in the evening.

Board the ship in the evening at Yichang, start Three Gorges Cruising.

Day2

Destination: Three Gorges
Highlights:Three Gorges Dam, Xiling Gorge

Three Gorges Dam is 27 miles upstream from Yichang City, 38km upstream from the Gezhouba Dam Lock, inside the third of the Three Gorges. The height of the Three Gorges Dam will be 185 meters. All 26 generators will be put into operation. The project is scheduled for completion in year 2009.
Xiling Gorge is the last of the Three Gorges on the Yangtze. The whole Gorge area is covered with high mountains, gullies, dangerous shoals and hidden reefs of various sizes. The best-known perilous shoal is Qing Shoal. Ships go downstream over the shoal at an arrow speed, but up the shoal it's as difficult as climbing a steep hill.

Day3

Destination: Three Gorges
Highlights:Qutang Gorge , Wu Gorge, Shennong Streem or Lesser Three Gorges

Qutang Gorge is the first of the Three Gorges on the Yangtze River. With vertical cliffs of some thousand meters high as its two flanks, the Qutang Gorge is only a few dozens of meters wide just like a narrow gateway.
Wu Gorge is gifted with exquisite peaks and lush mountains and ranges. It's deep and serene with changeable weather. The rolling River twists and turns and boats zigzag their way along, as if cruising in a fantastic gallery.
Shennong Stream, a tributary of the Yangtze River, rises in the southern part of Shennongjia Natural Reserve. With crystal clear steam flows swiftly from north to south through deep gorges, a sampan tour will allow you to experience a speedy adventure.
Lesser Three Gorges, situated on a tributary of the Yangtze, are much smaller, narrower and have some dramatic scenery. On both sides impressive stone cliffs are interspersed with surrounding rural scenery and forested areas.

Day4

Destination: Chongqing
Highlights:Ghost City or Wanxian City (Museum, relocation village and market)

Fengdu is where the devil lives, according to Chinese legend. They say that spirits go to heaven, and evil goes to Fengdu. The town is overlooked by Ming Shan Hill, home of Tianzi, the King of the Dead.
Wanxian is a small mountainous city known as the gate way to East Sichan. The city's silk-spinning and weaving industries are well known in the Yangtze Gorges region.

Day5

Destination: Chongqing
Highlights:Passengers disembark from the ship.

09:00 am Disembarkation in Chongqing, which is a modern city, China's fourth municipality after Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin. Within its borders Chongqing encompasses a wealth of water reserves, mineral resources, dense forests, and abundant flora and fauna. The focal point of the unique Yangtze Three Gorges Dam, Chongqing is a tourist attraction as well as a commercial city.
