Inner Mongolia, located on the northern border of China, is a Mongol Autonomous Region where 17% of the population is ethnic Mongolian. The region covers a large span on the northern edge of China where the eastern part is forest and grass meadow land, whereas the western part is occupied by dry desert. When travelling in Inner Mongolia, the most attractive part is her natural beauty. Xila’muren Grassland is the largest grassland meadow in China. In the traveler’s view are the vast grassland dotted with Mongolia tents, namely yurts, and crystal blue sky. In the fresh breeze one can also have an experience of nomadic lifestyle, such as horseback riding, grass skiing or watching ethnic folk singing and dancing. In the autumn when the temperature is mild you can also choose to explore the desert in the western part of the province. The most famous and visited ones are Kubuqi Desert, Tengger Desert and etc.

As the birth place of Mongol Empire, Inner Mongolia also boasts a profound history. One can learn about the legendary life of Genghis Khan, who was the founder of Mongol Empire, when visiting Genghis Khan’s Mausoleum. The traveler can also have a glimpse of the art, fresco and architecture of Lamaist Buddhism in Wudangzhao Monastery, Dazhao Temple, Five Pagoda Temple and etc.
