I am sorry it has taken me so long to reply. My friends and I have been really busy since returning to Canada. Thank you so much for providing us with such a great tour of Urumqi and Kashgar. It was an experience of a lifetime and we enjoyed every minute of it. China Travel Depot is amazing. The guides, drivers, accommodations, sites, and food were all exemplary. This was a fantastic option for people who are interested in touring amazing places in small groups. The tour was very comprehensive. I saw enough of Urumqi and Kashgar in only 6 Days to last a lifetime! Also one of the best things about the tour was the impromptu stops at interesting destinations. The scenery during the trip is amazing, especially that of the Heavenly Lake in Urumqi: the mountain was capped by glacier and snow glistening in the sun. The water on the mountain was pure and icy, worthy of the name of the "jewel in the crown". We also enjoyed the special experience of Kazak nomad life, including tasting the milk tea and some other really local food.
Both guides were excellent, very knowledgeable, very good English and went out of their way to ensure we were happy. Only thing I would say is that I had the impression that they were obliged to strictly adhere to the itinerary and given how capable they were it might be worth giving them a little more freedom to allow them to adjust things if appropriate to even better meet specific clients desires (although I have to say the itinerary was very good). On the second leg we did do some additional things during our 'free' time that were suggested by the guide and this was very much appreciated.
We will never forget this experience and have the fondest memories of every aspect of the trip. Thank you!
