: Hi Carol, This is my last day in Beijing. I am having tonight the roasted duck at Qianmen for the second time this week. It is an incredible delicacy! We have experienced a fabulous journey in Beijing, the Beihai park, the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City as well as the Great Wall etc, everything was perfect, including China Travel Depot service as usual. I would like to mention particularly our guide Michael, who spoke an astonishing good French and who was clearly above all guides in terms of culture and knowledge. Thank you to all of you who made this dreamed travel happen. I will share pictures with you later, but now I have to prepare the trip to Taiwan to attend marriage ceremony of Janine's son. : Dear Tom, Thank you for your recent message. Yes we had a pleasant journey back home and we have not stopped talking about our 4 days’ trip in Beijing since we came back. Everyone around us wants to know how it went and see some photos. There is so much to tell, we don't know where to start! Yes we do plan to make a travelogue of the whole experience, including our son's wedding and a selection of the hundreds of photographs we took. But we have not managed to do it yet. I will send you a Picasa web link to some photos, together with a commentary on our trip, hopefully within the next month. In the meantime, I can tell you that we were very impressed with the organization of the tour and all the guides and drivers. We certainly would recommend China Travel Depot to friends who may be planning a trip to China. Now that we are home and experiencing torrential rain, we think back on our wonderful Chinese experience and the summer temperatures we enjoyed there. : I booked this tour from China Travel Depot on the internet before I went to Beijing. As promised, I was contacted by our guide, Tom, at my hotel the night before to confirm the booking and again the following morning to confirm the pick-up point. Tom and our driver picked everyone up from their hotels in a comfortable min bus, we went to the Ming Tombs in the morning, and were given a very detailed background and history by Tom whilst there, we then drove to Mutianyu. We had lunch in a lovely restaurant before we went to the Great Wall, everyone on the tour (about 12 people) were very impressed with the quality of food and thought it exceeded expectation. We were all very happy with the choice of Mutianyu to view the Great Wall, it's not overrun with hordes of tourists and the scenery surrounding is beautiful. Tom suggested some great other options for Beijing and dropped me at Wangfujing that evening so I could have dinner there. he was a great source of local knowledge and had a good level of English. I would definitely recommend this tour to any of my family or friends visiting Beijing. Stephen king USA

: Hello Tom, Thanks to your advise, I found a good trip arrangement in Beijing. Thank you for your e-mail. Everything went really well and we are overall very pleased about the whole trip! I thought that the meals were excellent and provided a range of styles and flavours to suit most people. We had some great meals and it is hard to pick out just one as being the best but I would say that the lunch we had on the way to the Great Wall at Badaling and the Dumpling Banquet were my favourites. I consider 4 days was enough to travel in Beijing, and we had enough time to visit every place. Summer palace was a place suitable to visit in summer. As for the guides, some were better some a bit less, but overall communication was quite OK at all times. We understand how difficult is for Chinese people to speak such a different language. I really enjoyed my 4 days in Beijing, and thank you. Best regards, Candy Burner Austrilia

: Beijing is a must visit place for China tours. And our trip to Beijing was exceeded our expectation. It's the best tour itinerary we've had. Summer palace was the most memorable attraction we visited.
