The Huanglong Valley,Lying at the eastern rim of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, winds its way from south to north in Songpan County, north-west part of Sichaun province. This scenic area reputed as "The Fairyland on earth" for its remarkable landscape of lime formations, 3400 multi-colored and uniquely-sized ponds, interlacing along the valley. In addition, diverse forest ecosystems, waterfalls,beaches and hot springs are also added to its significant beauty. It was in the UNESCO world heritage list in 1992.
