Tai’an has numerous food products, which can be divided into two parts—local feasts and snacks. Having a long history, Tofu Feast and Vegetable Feast both can be traced back to imperial sacrifices in ancient times. A Tofu Feast has as many as 150 dishes made of tofu. Its delicious taste and fantastic design has gained reputation among visitors.

Chilin Fish, a white-scaled fish is famous for fresh and tender taste. It was once specially for Chinese emperors. Dongpingyang Muskmelon, a type of sweet melon, is rich in carbohydrate, vitamin and mineral substance. Among the snacks in Mount Tai district, Baked Wheat Cake is very notable, which tastes tender, salty and delicious with sesame on it. The cheap and tasty pancake is also popular among tourists and locals. With green onions and sauce, it gives out special flavor. Barbecues are another famous local snack. Tourists can enjoy several ways of grilling food. When it comes to the place of eating, the gourmet street in Laoxianya is worth mentioning. The street is home to many unique flavors both in and outside Tai’an. What’s more, It is easily accessible by bus.
