Main reasons of visiting to Qingdao would be for the numerous and impressive beaches that run along the coast. In total Qingdao have 6 beaches, of various size, cleanliness and attraction, including what is claimed to be the largest bathing beach in Asia, the Number One Beach. The beaches are good for China, fairly clean (without a close inspection of the water) and not overly full, except in peak season and during National holidays.

Laoshan Beach
(Just at the entrance to Laoshan National Park, about a 30 minute drive east of the city limits,). Surrounded by mountains and visited far less often than its alternatives, Laoshan beach is one of the best in town. Make sure to arrange transportation there and back, because taxis are harder to get there.
Old Stone Man Beach
Donghai East Road and Haikou Road (Get there by bus 125 or 321). 24 hours. As one of the best beaches within easy striking distance of the city, it is clean, very long and broad, with the highest waves. Tables, chairs, tents, boats, shower, changing facilities etc. are available for rent. Admission free; Shower and changing is now 10 RMB at the cheapest. In addition, you can store your items in a locker for another 10 RMB + a deposit of 30 RMB.
Freeman Coffee House
No. 38, Hubei Road, Shinan District, Qingdao
A coffee house in the old city area, it is decorated with antiques, such as an American wireless radio from the 1940s, Irish copper coffee pots, a shabby straw-hat-shaped lampshade, and the graffiti left by customers. All these decorations remind one of a street corner in a European city.

Night Market
Qingdao's nightlife ends a little earlier than some other coastal cities in China. So does the night market. At about 10 pm each night, the night market closes. So if you like to wander through the night market, please go there early. Those on Yan'an Er Lu and Taidong Pedestrian Street are recommended.
