Qingdao Transportation

Located in the southeast of Shandong Peninsula looking over the Yellow Sea, Qingdao is a major seaport, naval base, and industrial centre of China. The Qingdao Haiwan Bridge is the world's longest sea bridge which connects the main urban area of Qingdao to the Huangdao district. Qingdao highway traffic is well developed and whether you travel via air, train or car they are all very convenient.

By air

Qingdao Liuting International Airport is approximately 32 km from the city centre which possesses easy accessible routes to more than 30 cities nationwide. Passenger transport routes heading to Tokyo, Japan, Osaka, Fukuoka, Seoul, Korea, Singapore, and several other international and regional areas have also been opened. In addition, the Ticket Office is located in NO.29 Zhongshan Road. Buses from the urban district to the airport mainly include NO.302, 305, 373 and there are also three Airport Bus Lines.
By train
Qingdao Railway Station is located in No. 2 Tai'an Road near Zhan Qiao Pier. There are trains heading to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Ji’nan, Taishan, Yantai, Weihai, Wuchang, Nanchang, Xi'an, Lanzhou, Chengdu, and other national cities. Except for the trains that bound at Zibo, Yantai, Weihai direction, the rest all stop in Jinan which is the capital of Shandong province. There are six EMUs (passenger trains) which run back and forth between Beijing and Qingdao originally which has added three more high-speed rail operations from July 1, 2011 onwards. Since then the original EMU’s running time have been reduced from the nearly six hour ride down to four hours and twenty minutes.

By bus
Because of the undulating terrain, bicycles and motorcycles are rarely seen in Qingdao therefore bus travel has become the main transportation in the city. Qingdao's public transportation is very convenient and easily accessible, also to add the new buses are very clean. Bus NO.26, 201,202 run along the beach through many attractions including Zhan Qiao Pier, Badaguan and so on. In addition, traveling to Qingdao, the most convenient and comfortable way is to take the three level air-conditioned traveling special line; these buses are all equipped with luxury hardware and professional guide service.
By taxi
Tourists may get the impression that Qingdao’s taxi drivers like to drive around in circles but in fact it is just because of the layout of Qingdao’s traffic. Most lanes in Qingdao are designed as one-way traffic in order to improve the speed and ease the traffic on the roads, which makes it a little hard to go directly to the place you intend to travel to. So it is very important for tourists to bear this point in mind in order to avoid disputes with the local taxi drivers.
By ferry & cruise ship
Qingdao Development Zone and Qingdao Old City are interlinked by ferries and boats which mainly include routes from Huangdao ferry pier to Qingdao ferry pier, AnZi pier of Xuejiadao to Qingdao ferry pier and Qingdao Fushan Bay.

Cruise terminal in Laiyang Road is located to the north of the Naval Museum, operating many tour routes which go back and forth between Xiaoqingdao Island, Luxun Park, and Too Inner. And the other cruise terminal is located in the ZhongYuan Sea Square Xiling Road. There are not only panoramic city sightseeing tour routes from here to My Island, but also tour routes to smaller islands such as Zhucha Island and Dagong Island in Huangdao.
