Tiananmen Square in Beijing acts as the center for Beijing’s uniform bus network, causing the transportation system to revolve around the famous site.The ancient city’s plan enabled roads to bebuilt around the Tiananmen Square, with the latitude and longitude linesconnecting together to enable a steady flow of traffic. With the city’sexpansion, the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth ring roads were introduced to ease congestion. The new seventh ring has been introduced as a semicircle, which has a total length of more than 500 kilometers.
Bus NO.1, 4 , 52 and 57 go through the wide Chang'an Avenue across the city, along the Jian’guo Hotel, Beijing, London Hotel, International Hotel, Friendship Store, Tiananmen Square, the telegraph building, etc. Tram 103 pulls out of the Beijing Railway Station leisurely across the entire city to the Beijing Zoo. By subway
Beijing subway system currently consists of 15 lines including Line 1, Line 2, Line 5, Batong Line, Daxing Line, Changping Line, Fangshan Line, etc. With a total of 191 stations, the subway system covers an impressive 339.5 kilometers daily. The subway is a very popular form of transportation around Beijing as it is reliable and easy to navigate; a one-way ticket anywhere in the city currently costs ¥ 2 per person.
