Kunming is the cultural center of Yunnan Pronvince. Some 20 ethnic minorities inhabit this region, and each group has developed its own unique ethnic folk dances over a long history. Among all the dances, peacock dance is the most popular one.

Apart from the fantastic ethnic folk dances, recreational activities in Kunming City is as varied as those of other modern metrapolis. Places of entertainment here include bars, KTV, internet bars, etc. Located in Kunming City, Kundu, one of the biggest entertainment place in China, provides various performance bars among which Zuwu Bar, Manyao bar and Tailai Village are the most representative. Around Jinma Biji Fang are quite a few places of entertainment which are the ideal place for the young to have fun. Some distinctive bars, situated about Cuihu Lake are pretty expensive, but very decent.
At day, tourists can drive a kart or ride a horse, chasing each other for fun. A bath in open hot spring, such as Anning Tangchi, may make you refreshed.
Buying flowers at Shangyi Street: A great variety of flowers at this street are inexpensive, particularly at the closing time when the price is 1/5 or much lower than that of other places of China. One kind of roses, named as Blue Entrantress, enjoys great reputation everywhere.
Feeding sea-gulls aroun Cuihu Lake: It’s an inevitable activity enjoyed by tourists in each winter when flocks of sea-gulls fly beautifully above Cuihu Lake. What an astonishing occasion.
Guandu Ancient County: This county is located in the southeast of Kunming City. The earliest temples : Tuzhu Temple dates back to Tang Dynasty and Fading Temple dates back to Song Dynasty. Jinggang Baozuo Tower which is in front of Miaozhan Temple is very well-known.

Behind Jinma Biji Fang are lots of bars among which Tuofeng Bar got its fame first, so this bustling street was called as Tuofeng afterwards. Tourists who intend to taste Cross Bridge Rice Nooodles can also enjoy yourselves at some restaurants here.
Kunming Night Market

All citizens in Kunming City are familiar with Kunming Night Market. And the characteristics of recreational activities can be repeated in detail by visitors who once stayed here.
