Hanging Temple
Hanging Temple was located in the Heng Mountain’s foot, from the south of the five kilometers to the Hunyuan County in the west JinLongXia rock cliff, is apart from the Datong 65 kilometers. It is the national key cultural unit, this is only unique temple includes Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian elements. From the earliest times, there has been Northern Heng Shan’s first wonder.
Heng Shan was established in the northern wei dynasty (about 471 to 523 AD), has 1400 years of history. The extant monastery was largely rebuilt and maintained in the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. Mountain’s back face the east, like an exquisite carving embedded in Heng Shan. The building’s features can be summarized as "strange, cliff, ingenious” three words.
