Lu Pu Bridge
Lu Pu Bridge is the most recently built bridge on the Huang Pu River. It was done in 2003. It is the longest steel arch bridge in the world. Its 550-meter-long arch span is 32 meters. The Lupu Bridge also functions as a sightseeing attraction. Sightseers are to take the high-speed transparent elevator up to the main deck of the bridge, reaching the viewing platform about the size of a basketball field at top of the 100-meter high arch rib, and taking in the breath-taking scenery of the Huangpu River.
The viewing platform is a prime spot for viewing the past, present and future of the site of World Expo 2010, as the bridge is situated on the site’s central axle.
