Panmen City Gate
Panmen scenic spot is located southwest of the ancient city of Suzhou; it contains many historical sites and cultural relics which attracts both international and domestic visitors from around the world. The "Panmen 3 views” has contributed to the city’s reputation as an ancient wonder, the three ancient sites are; the Gates of Panmen located in the southwest of Suzhou, another one is the 'Wumen bridge' situated across from the grand canal and the final site is the 'Ruiguang Temple Tower' near zhaoying. The Grand Canal connecting the three sites is one of Suzhou’s most ancient attractions. The National Heritage Conservation has listed the "Ruiguang Temple Tower" in Suzhou as an ancient relic, in order to preserve this early wonder. The Ruiguang Temple Tower reaches an astonishing height of 44.42 meters, has 8 surfaces and 7 layers. The Temple’s traditional shape is typical of its period; furthermore it is composed reflecting both Tang and Song Dynasty architectural styles. Furthermore both the Panmen and Wumen bridges are also protected by the National Heritage Conservation society. When the moonlight strikes these ancient wonders, they appear to come to life as the intricate patterns shift and shimmer in darkness. Jiangnan's beautiful landscape is dreamlike, its famous ancient relics have allured people for century’s inspiring many to try and capture its magic in poetry, fables and paintings. Suzhou’s long and convoluted past and many ancient relics, fill this amazing city with many unique historical and cultural tourist attractions.
