Wucaichi is a scenic area consisting of various pools, it is famous for its unique size and colours among the numerous ponds in Jiuzhaigou. Through the pure transparent water in the pond, you can clearly figure out the stones lying at the bottom and even make out the waterweeds. In the sunshine, the pond presents a beautiful view that’ll never fade. The rippling water changes from blue to green, and then gold and purple, the various colours alternating makes it quite incredible According to legends, the Wucaichi was the pool where the goddess Swmo did her washing and the god Dage carried water from the long sea for her every day. After a considerable period of time, the cliff was treaded into 189 steps by Dage. People in love always believe that if one could climb down the hill to Wucaichi along the steps and make a wish and then who are able to climb up again, would be able to gain a life full of love. It is only one km from the long sea down to Wucaichi. Embedded within the valleys down the ghot, Wucaichi is 2995m high, 6.6m deep and covering 5645 square meters. Although Wucaichi is the smallest and exquisite one among all the ponds, the colours of it are the most gorgeous therefore equally matching Wuhuahai. The water of Wucaichi is extraordinarily clear, through which you can see the textures of the stones and some phytocoenosiums like Spirogyra, stonewort and araiostegia, along with bulrush, equisetum ramosissimum and water wicks. Different aquatic life contains different Chlorophylls which have different shades of green, making it look different in the water. Whenever you hit the water the sun shines upon the pond then the water would suddenly ripple with attractive waves. The waves would flicker a halo with colours of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. When autumn draws, the forests and flowers turn red making the reflection of this beautiful scene on the surface of Wucaichi would definitely lead you into a colourful dream.
